Sulphuric acid concentration plant
1. Introduction of sulphuric acid concentration plant
The concentrated sulphuric acid is widely used for some gas (such as Cl2, H2…) drying process due its strong water absorption. After continues water absorption, the concentrated sulfuric acid become dilute sulfuric acid and lost drying ability. The sulfuric acid concentration plant is designed to adopt muti-stage vacuum concentration process to recovery sulfuric acid from dilute sulphuric acid.
The sulphuric acid concentration plant has the characteristics of simple process flow, minimal wastes (waste water, waste gas), low energy consumption, high degree of automation, high reliability and long operational cycle.
2. Process description of sulphuric acid concentration plant
The dilute sulfuric acid enters the first stage sulfuric acid concentrator through flow control, and it is heated and concentrated to about 88% by the first stage concentrator heater under vacuum; 88% hot sulfuric acid flows into the secondary sulfuric acid concentrator and it is heated and concentrated to over 95% by the secondary concentrator heater under vacuum. The first and second stage concentrator heaters adopt tantalum material, heated by medium pressure steam, and their condensate is sent out of the battery limit for comprehensive utilization.
The hot sulfuric acid from the secondary concentrator after cooled down properly will be sent to the product acid storage tank.
