Description
- Mannheim process: Concentrated H2SO4 reacts with KCL in high temperature to produce K2SO4 with 31% of HCL.
- Molecular formula: K2SO4
- Molecular weight: 174.24
- General properties: White or colorless crystal or powder, bitter and salty; proportion of 2.662g/cm3; melting point of 1,069°C; soluble in water and the water solution with slight acidity,insoluble in ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol and carbon disulfide.
- Main applications:Fertilizer, especially for crops with low tolerant for chlorine and high demand for potassium, such as tobacco, fruit, beet and grape.
- Raw material for kali salt production, such as potassium carbonate, potassium persulfate and potash water glass.
- Laxative in pharmaceutical industry; clarifying agent in glass industry; intermediate in fuel industry; and assistant in perfume industry.
