SOP making machine
The SOP making machine is designed for the production of Potassium Sulfate using Potassium Chloride (KCl) as the raw material and Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) in the Mannheim Furnace reaction. The primary output is Potassium Sulfate, with Hydrochloric Acid as a by-product. The production capacity ranges from 10,000.00 to 260,000.00 tons per year.
Description
This project adopts Mannheim process technology to build the SOP making machine. The production of potassium sulfate and generation of hydrogen chloride gas are mainly completed in the K2SO4 reactor. Potassium chloride and sulfuric acid are continuously fed into the reaction furnace through a metering device in appropriate feeding ratio. After being fully mixed in the reaction furnace, they will react with each other to generate potassium sulfate and hydrogen chloride gas.
The reaction principle is as follows:
- 2KCl+H2SO4--K2SO4+2HCl
- The reaction is actually carried out in two steps:
- KCl+H2SO4=KHSO4+HCl
- KCl+KHSO4=K2SO4+HCl
The first step is an exothermic reaction, and the second step is an endothermic reaction. The conversion rate of potassium chloride to potassium sulfate increases with temperature rising, and the most suitable reaction temperature range is 530 ~ 550°C.
Gaseous form HCl produced in the production of potassium sulfate will be sent to the absorption unit outside the battery limit for absorption to produce hydrochloric acid with concentration ≥31%.
